A meeting of two folk dance cultures, Indian and Russian, took place at the Meghdoot Theatre of the Sangeet Natak Academy, the National Academy of Music, Dance, and Drama.

The incredible dance marathon lasted over three and a half hours, becoming a true celebration of friendship and talent. Students and graduates of the Governorate Ballet School choreographic college met on the same stage with India's finest dancers, who had passed a rigorous national casting.

The directors of educational institutions addressed the participants with welcoming remarks, launching a rich cultural dialogue.

The program began with the academic precision and breadth of the Russian soul. Kostroma residents presented a folk dance concert class, demonstrating to their Indian colleagues the complexity and beauty of the Russian choreographic school. Immediately after, Irina Rubtsova , Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation, conducted a workshop in Russian folk dance, which elicited a storm of applause from dancers from both countries. India's response was dazzlingly vibrant and multifaceted. First, Indian dancers presented a spectacular show, revealing to the guests the rich diversity of dance culture from all 28 states of the country—from West Bengal to Maharashtra. Following this, the eminent choreographer Subhash Nakash conducted a special master class.
