On September 4, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the presentation of the Global Dance Overture, an international project of Kostroma Ballet, took place in Moscow at the Russian Song Moscow State Academic Theatre.
Ambassadors and other representatives of 60 diplomatic missions of foreign countries accredited in Russia were the guests of honour at the event.
The presentation was opened by the Volga choreographic composition as a symbol of Russian dance culture, and The Sun over China as an example of cultural interaction between friendly countries The latter piece was inspired by the Ballet's acquaintance with the Ancient Chinese culture of the Tang Dynasty during its tour in Beijing. After the performance of the Chinese dance, when Maria Zakharova, Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, asked "how authentically the ballet dancers performed the piece", Zhang Hanhui, the Chinese Ambassador replied: "Very similar! Fantastic!"
The project was presented by Elena Nikolayevna Tsarenko, President of Kostroma Russian National Ballet, Honoured Professional of Culture of the Russian Federation: "The first stage of the project will be held in the countries of the BRICS interstate association, and further stages – in all interested countries. The start is scheduled for 2024 in Kazan during the presidency of the Russian Federation in BRICS. The countries participating in the project will see the premiere performance of Kostroma Russian National Show –a large-scale historical canvas, which familiarizes the audience with the deep roots and folk traditions of multinational Russia. Within the framework of the project, there will be a presentation of the International Creative Dacha youth educational project and Russian dance culture workshops…".
During the presentation, support for the Global Dance Overture international project were expressed by Marina Zakharova, Director of the Department of Information and Press of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Andrey Malyshev, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation.
Welcoming addresses to Kostroma Russian National Ballet in support of the Global Dance Overture project were sent by Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and Olga Borisovna Lyubimova, the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation.
The educational part of the Global Dance Overture – The International Creative Dacha (International Creative Dacha) cultural and educational youth project – was presented as a fragment of the international workshop in Russian folk and stage dance performed by the 4th -year students of the Governorate Ballet School choreographic college and dancers from Kostroma Russian National Ballet - graduates of the college.
The presentation culminated in the main cultural event of the project – a performance of Kostroma Russian National Show.
The Global Dance Overture international project is aimed at humanitarian cooperation in the cultural and educational spheres, as well as the development and strengthening of friendly ties between the BRICS member states and other interested countries.

- The innovativeness of the projects lies not just in introducing foreign audiences to Russian dance culture, but also in cross-studying folk choreography, as well as training professional staff who will be able to promote and popularize the culture of friendly countries in their homeland.
