Global Dance Overture in Egypt.

On June 12, Kostroma Russian National Ballet presented the Russian National Dance Show on the stage of the Cairo Opera House. The show is the cultural part of the Global Dance Overture international project in the BRICS countries, initiated by Kostroma Russian National Ballet and backed by the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of Egypt, the Embassy of Russia in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation "Rossotrudnichestvo".

The performance took place as part of the official reception of Georgy Borisenko, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Arab Republic of Egypt, and was timed to coincide with the celebration of Russia Day.
The sophisticated Cairo public called the performance an event not only in the cultural life of the city, but also in the whole country. During these days (June 11 and 12), it was visited by more than two thousand people, who, full of great enthusiasm and gratitude, shared their reviews with the dancers and directors of the ballet Elena and Yuri Tsarenko after the performance.

Among the honoured guests of the event were the M. Fawzi, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Legal Affairs and Public Relations, Sh. Fathy, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, H. Khatib, the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, S. Hefni, the Minister of Civil Aviation , M. Shim,i the Minister of Public Sector Affairs, employees of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, members of both houses of Parliament, foreign diplomats, representatives of social, political and scientific circles.

On this day, together with Russian dancers, the dancers of the famous Egyptian Reda troupe took part in the Russian National Dance Show . They presented the culture of Southern Egypt in the Nubian Dance choreographic piece and joined the finale with Kostroma ballet, as a symbol of successful creative interaction aimed at establishing friendship between peoples.

A truly significant event enabled representatives of the folk dance culture of both countries to demonstrate the unique features of their traditions, enrich each other with new knowledge and inspiration, strengthen friendly ties between peoples, which have already opened up prospects for the further development of joint cultural projects and initiatives.

After the performance, Georgy Borisenko, the Russian Ambassador, addressed the artists: "Thank you very much! You have presented Russian culture here in Egypt in the best possible way. I think that the Egyptian public is delighted and will remember this event for a long time."
