As part of the project launch, the Ballet presented its cultural part – the Russian National Show. On this day, the work of two groups at once served as an example of interethnic unity. The State Song and Dance Ensemble of the Republic of Tatarstan presented the dance culture of its people for the first time in the programme of the Ballet. During the educational part of the project, they together launched a youth international flashmob, the message of which is to unite the hearts of people of all countries through kindness, love and the international language of dance.
At the beginning of the launching event of the Global Dance Overture project, the guests and participants of the BRICS Summit were addressed online by Olga Lyubimova, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, and Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation,.
Leyla FAZLEYEVA, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, personally greeted the guests of the city and participants of the project. After the performance, she thanked the dancers and ballet directors, saying: “We all have to realize how important the today’s event was! Thank you for the beauty, aesthetics, for our Russia!”
Snežana Dodik, the wife of the President of the Republic of Srpska, expressed her gratitude to Elena Tsarenko, the President of the Ballet.
The Global Dance Overture project in BRICS countries involves the Russian National Show, cross-cultural workshops and presentation of the International Creative Dacha educational programme in each participating country.
“Our project is a contribution to the universal cause of peace“, believes Elena Tsarenko, the president of Kostroma Russian National Ballet, - We hope that each participant will be able to feel part of a large family and of common world culture.
In 2025, the Global Dance Overture will take place in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and China; in 2026 – in Brazil, India, Ethiopia and South Africa.
The project will result in the BRICS Folk Dance Culture Festival scheduled for 2026 at SIRIUS Federal territory.
