The BRICS Alliance of Folk Dance was established by the declaration of the IX BRICS Ministers of Culture Meeting signed by the Ministers of Culture of the countries of the interstate association on the sidelines of the Cultural Forum in St. Petersburg in September 2024. An online forum on the creation of the Alliance and the approval of the main documents of the association is scheduled for autumn 2025.
The Alliance of BRICS Folk Dance is established to become the effective tool to promote international cultural and educational projects aimed to acquaint audiences from member states with each other’s dance culture.
The innovative aspect of the Alliance’s activities involves the development of this acquaintance into cross-study, preservation, popularization and mutual promotion of folk dance culture in friendly countries with the aim to unite peoples on the grounds of human values, to establish mutual liking, understanding and loyalty between them.
